Tri County AYSO Futsal Program
Our goal at AYSO is to provide its players with the best tools to become “all around” quality players. This includes operating on different surfaces of play, different rules and even different balls. Therefore, we are very excited to be offering a 6-week Futsal program this winter.
Futsal is a relatively new program in the United States and is the only “Official form of Indoor Soccer” approved by FIFA. The game is played all around the world with millions of players participating in over 100 countries. Futsal is played in an indoor environment like a gym on a field with regular boundaries without any walls being allowed to be used. The game is played 5 on 5 with open substitution and requires the use of a special “low bounce” ball. The goal of the program will be to teach/improve players technical skills, fast decision-making skills, creativity and game involvement.
Games will take place on 6 Saturdays in January and February (1/6, 1/13, 1/27, 2/3, 2/17, and 2/27) at the Tri County Middle School Gym. Games times will be dependent on registration totals. We will be offering registration thru www.AYSO1298.org for boys and girls at 10U, 12U and 14U as well as a co-ed 19U team. We will be capping registration to 20 kids in each category (i.e. 20 10U boys and 20 10U girls). Since this is a new program we will be playing jamboree style for this season while we get our feet wet.
Cost: $25.00* per player for any currently registered player from fall 2017 or spring 2018.

Futsal does require 2 referees per game and coaches are needed. With a Jamboree style game, we would need at least one coach per age/gender group, two would be best. For more information on coaching and/or refereeing please contact Eric Shadley at 616-477-4976 or [email protected]
*If you are not currently registered there will be an additional $17.50 national fee. The National fee is paid once per year regardless of how many seasons one plays.
